My game creation software of choice is Mark Overmars Game Maker. It's how I learned the basics of programming and talking to computers. All the games covered below were created by me using a mix of drag-and-drop, GML code fields, and scripts as I got more experienced. [NYA] = not yet abandoned

The first Metroid demo I ever posted on the GMC. This was a first of many things: working collisions, invisible solids, visible tiles, Metroid latch-ability, transitions without having "room persistant" checked, and a working HUD with missiles and everything. There was even an intro cinematic where I made clever use of some ripped graphics from Fusion.

My latest Super Metroid fan game. I'm very happy with it so far, but I'm still only 2/3 into finishing it. The only major things missing from the engine are the bosses, the grapple beam, and map drawing. Everything else from the original is there and works perfectly, although the level design is very bland right now. Gameplay footage to engage my progress: [1] [2]
